One of my goals here at Urban Forward is to have others join in the fun. I believe that with a collective voice we can engage in a more robust, interesting, and diverse dialogue, not to mention reach a larger audience. There’s a lot of great work and people out there who aren’t as visible as they should be, and it would be great to help showcase that.

While this opportunity is open to anyone who’s the right fit, I particularly envision creating a space for folks without a current outlet to easily begin writing on urban issues and showcase their thoughts and work. Posts could be sharing what’s happening in your community and how we might learn from it, highlighting work you’ve done that could be useful to readers, sharing and commenting on new articles and research, or anything else you’d like to share that’s relevant to improving our cities. Contributors from any number of backgrounds are welcome, including urban planners and their sister professions, nonprofit advocates, engaged citizens, students, and any others who want to discuss how we can create healthy, sustainable, and equitable communities.

If you’re interested in writing for Urban Forward please send an email to matt (at) urbanforward (dot) org and include your background, why you’d like to contribute here, and what you think you’ll write about. I am open to either regular contributors or one time guest posts.
